effective 2025e‑Pharian is a haven for farmers — developed by J.H. Cerilles State College, funded by DA-Bureau of Agricultural Research, in collaboration with BSWM. We are committed to protect the privacy of every farmer, buyer, LGU, and stakeholder who trusts our digital agri-marketplace. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your data, rooted in the Subanen tradition of Parian — a transparent marketplace where trust grows.
🍚 1. Information we collect
👩🌾 For farmers
- Full name, Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) – verified account request
- Contact details, farm location (barangay, municipality)
- Product posts, images, pre‑marketing listings, prices
🛒 For buyers
- Personal information
- Username, password (encrypted), account approval status
- Browsed products, price checks, reviews, buy
- Transaction history & direct farmer engagements
- Device info / IP – to ensure legitimate transactions
⚙️ 2. Why we use your data
- Enable legitimate marketing: registration → approval (MAO/farmer; buyer self‑register + admin approval) to secure transactions.
- Quick marketing operations: posting, buying, pre‑harvest selling, worldwide access to products.
- Fertilizer & soil decision tools: personalized recommendations based on crop, municipality, and BSWM soil data.
- Market price & crop trends: guide fair pricing and inform planting decisions – aggregated data may be shared with LGUs.
- LGU & stakeholder monitoring: production/supply insights, stronger agri partnerships.
- Communication: contact details visible ONLY to facilitate direct farmer‑buyer negotiation (no third‑party marketing).
📋 3. Registration & verification
Farmer accounts: must be requested via Municipal Agriculture Office – we validate your identity to preserve the trust of the Parian.
Buyer accounts: self‑registration requires admin approval. We retain approval logs to deter fraudulent activities.
🤝 4. Sharing with partners
e‑Pharian is a collaborative ecosystem. We may share anonymized/aggregated reports with:
Individual farmer/buyer personal data is never sold or rented. Pre‑marketing product details are public within the app to enable pre‑harvest selling — you control what you post.
🗺️ 5. GIS soil viewing & recommendations
The app provides a soil properties GIS map for each barangay of Zamboanga del Sur. This uses static BSWM data; we do not collect individual farm boundaries. Fertilizer recommendations are generated based on crop selection + location — no historical soil data is stored per user unless explicitly submitted for improvement (with consent).
🔐 6. Security & retention
Passwords are hashed. Access to farmer/buyer data is restricted to authorized personnel and MAO verifiers. We retain account information while active; posts remain until removed by user or if account is inactive for extended period (notification sent).
🌾 7. Your privacy choices
- Request account deletion via your Municipal Agriculture Office (farmers) or by contacting support.
- Opt out of non‑essential data collection (crop trends are aggregated; individual opt‑out possible but yield insights may be limited).
- Edit product posts and contact visibility anytime.
- Withdraw pre‑marketing offers before harvest.
If you need to access, correct, or delete personal data, please approach the MAO or email the project team (contact at the footer).
🎓 8. Training & community consent
e‑Pharian holds hands‑on trainings (e.g., San Miguel, Dimataling, Pagadian City). Photos or participation records are used only for documentation, reporting to DA‑BAR, and promotion of digital agri — with explicit consent during events.
